Cindy Carey is an educator with 18 years of experience in the Philadelphia schools. She graduated from Temple University in 2004 with a degree in biology. In college, Cindy’s part-time job tutoring underserved youth inspired her to pursue a career in teaching.
Cindy earned her master’s degree in elementary education from Cheyney University in 2009. Her passion for leadership grew a few years into her career. Cindy served as an instructional coach for two years before becoming the principal at a Philadelphia charter school, a job she held for eleven years. She now leads the heads of school at Belmont Charter School to ensure vertical alignment of our programming from PreK through graduation. Her passion is to see leaders grow into their full potential.
Cindy enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and two daughters. She loves traveling, dancing, and Zumba classes. She is a lifelong learner who believes that all children can succeed when provided with a learning sanctuary.
