Belmont Academy Charter School (BACS) meets the needs of the Belmont neighborhood’s young children by offering Head Start programs, pre-kindergarten, and kindergarten.
Housed in a loved historic building, Belmont Academy Charter School’s (BACS) approximately 240 early learners are prepared for elementary school success in a nurturing and family-like environment.
Typically, BACS students transition into Belmont Charter School for 1st grade.
Students begin their day with a healthy breakfast which is shown to increase concentration and energy so students can learn their best!
Each day, every class has a morning meeting where we learn about each other and have fun preparing for the day ahead. This also helps us to build strong relationships between friends and between each teacher and student.
Afternoon Learning
Children are engaged in learning that is developmentally appropriate and individualized.
Social Emotional Learning
We believe that recess plays a super important role in student learning. Physical activity optimizes learning and creates creative, social and emotional growth for our students.
We promote play as we believe it is crucial in a child’s social and emotional development.
Parents as Partners
At Belmont Academy Charter School, we welcome every opportunity to chat with our parents when we greet them individually at drop off and pick up- or through messages on our internal application “Parent Square”.
We host monthly engagement activities to keep parents informed of what’s happening in their child’s academic life, to provide resources and skills to keep students growing.
Afterschool
Many of the students stay after school for extended learning and fun.
Programs include art, music, science, and sports.
